Sub: MoU between India and Australia
It is to inform that the Secretary Textiles, Govt. of India and the Australian High Commissioner The Hon Barry O’Farrell AO, have had a bilateral meeting recently wherein it was proposed to have an exhaustive MoU between India and Australia by expanding the scope of the MoU to include investments in Textile parks, joint ventures in textile machineries, JV in textiles & apparel sector, technical textiles, sportswear, etc.
In this regard this Council has received a communication from the Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India whereby it is informed that the High Commission of Australia in New Delhi requests the Ministry to provide a list of Indian industry stakeholders with whom their Australian counterparts can engage in and explore possibilities for cooperation in Textile segment.
Therefore, the Member-companies of the Council who are interested/connected to the Australian market by ways of exporting at present, planning for market expansion, exploring market opportunities in Australia, joint ventures in textile machineries, technical textiles, sportswear, etc. are requested to send their company and contact details as desired in the Table below and email to baruah@srtepc.in, ed@srtepc.in on or before Friday 30th April 2021 to help us send a consolidated list to the Ministry as desired.
