Interactive Session on advantages of the INSTC route
The Department of Commerce along with the Federation of Freight Forwarders Association of India and UCO Bank is organizing an Interactive Session on 22nd Dec 2015 at Mumbai to create awareness among the EXIM community and to inform the advantage of the International North South Transport Corridor (INSTC) route. The interactive session shall be inaugurated by Commerce Secretary.
International North South Transport Corridor (INSTC) is a multimodal transportation established for the purpose of promoting transportation cooperation among the member states. Originally established between Iran, Russia and India, INSTC further expanded to include Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan Oman and Syria. A dry run was conducted on the INSTC route in 2014 which indicated that this route is expected to be faster and cheaper over the traditional route.
