Sub:  Responsibility for sending sample to appropriate Lab with requisite test memo 

Dear Member,      

JNCH has issued Public Notice No. 60/2021 dated 30^th June, 2021 on the above subject.  

In this connection, Instruction No. 09/2020 dated 05.06.2020 issued by CBIC.

The procedure for generation of test memo has been modified under the Para of CBIC Instruction No. 09/2020 dated 05.06.2020. The shed officer in FAG (Faceless Assessment Group) or PAG (Port Assessment Group) is responsible for generating a test memo as per directions or testing parameters specified in the examination order by the Assessing Group (FAG or PAG) and send samples accordingly to the appropriate Laboratory. 

It is directed that the above procedure shall be implemented without any deviation w.e.f. 1^st July, 2021. 

In case of any difficulty, members may kindly contact the Additional Commissioner (Appraising Main, Import) through email on appraisingmain.jnch@gov.in.
