Re : Invitation to participate in Morocco Style Fashion & Tex Fair in Casablanca, Morocco from 31st March to 3rd April, 2016.
We are glad to inform you that the Council is scheduled to organize participation of its member-companies in Morocco Style Fashion & Tex Fair in association with the Embassy of India in Rabat from 31st March to 3rd April, 2016 under the
Product Coverage :
Products profile of the Exhibition includes fabrics, made-ups, home textiles, yarn and garments.
Market Potential :
Textiles and clothing play a very important role in the Moroccan economy, which is a industrial employer in the country. Casablanca, the trade and distribution centre of Morocco, is the Gateway of North Africa to Europe. Morocco’s advantage is its proximity to Europe, and its relatively lower costs of wages and the natural skill of its workers, the majority of whom are women. As fabric-import for making garments is exempt from tax, Morocco imports a high volume of fabrics for export of apparels. Morocco has become an important supplier of apparels via the Free Trade Agreements with both EU and the USA.
Morocco is a growing market for Indian MMF textiles, and during 2014-15 exports of Indian MMF textiles were to the tune of US$ 63 million. Yarn was the main product of exports with 75% followed by made-ups with 10%, fabrics with 8% and fibre with 7%. Though Morocco imported around US$ 2 billion of MMF textiles from the global market during 2014, India’s share in its total import of MMF textiles was just 3% (nearly US$ 62 million). Hence, there is tremendous scope for expanding the trade of Indian MMF textiles to this market. India’s main competitors in this market are China, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. It may be noted here that custom tariffs imposed by Morocco on import of MMF textiles are up to 2.5% on yarn, 2.5% - 17.5% on fabrics and up to 2.5% - 25% on made ups.
Publicity & Promotion :
The Fair, being an International Exhibition, will extensively be publicized by the Organizers to ensure footfalls of potential Moroccan Buyers to the above Event for discussing business with representatives of concerned Exhibiting companies. In addition to this, the Council will also publicize the Event by direct invitations, mass-mailing & disseminating separate Catalogue of Indian Exhibitors to target customers.
Booking of air-tickets, hotel accommodations, group transportations/lunch packs & assistance for Visa :
The Council will offer necessary assistance to representatives of participating companies for all the matters relating to the booking of air-tickets, arranging Hotel accommodations and obtain their Visas. As regards Visa, the Council will arrange to get passport details of participants (not more than two) endorsed by the concerned authority in Morocco through the Embassy of India, and help participants to obtain their Visa to visit Morocco. Group transportation for participants from a common hotel to the venue of the Fair & return will be arranged by the Council. Lunch packets will also be arranged for SRTEPC participants during the Fair.
Participation fees :
An amount of Rs.2.20 lakhs – net amount (for a booth of 9 sqm), and Rs.1.40 lakhs – net amount (for a booth of 6 sqm) have been worked out for the above Exhibition. In this connection, an Early Bird Discount of Rs.10,000/- (for a booth of 9 sqm) and Rs.5000/- (for a booth of 6 sqm) will be offered to those confirming participation in the Exhibition on or before 9th December, 2015 (Wednesday). Please note, this Early Bird Discount will not be available, if the full payment alongwith dully filled-in “Application Form” do not reach to the Council on or before 9th December, 2015, as mentioned above. It may be mentioned here that a very few number of 6 sqm booths are available for those not eligible to get
Marketing Development Assistance (
Since the above programme has been approved by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry for offering financial assistance to member-participants through
Terms and Conditions :
Participants will be given a standard exhibition-booth of 9 sqm/6 sqm size each with necessary furnitures, display props, lights etc. on the basis of their availability in the above market to display their products, and conduct business meetings for negotiations with buyers/visitors. However, participants, who may be interested in booking more than one booth, the allocation of the same will be decided absolutely on the basis of availability of extra booths/space. The other terms & conditions for participation in the above Exhibition are as follows:
§ The amounts of Participation fees, as mentioned above, do not include expenses of representative(s) of participating firms like air-fares, hotel expenses etc.
§ Each selected Company will have to depute a minimum of one Senior Executive (but not more than 2) to the above Exhibition at its own costs.
§ Booth packages offered to those availing 9 sqm booth will include one discussion table, three chairs, two fabric-display stands (for fabric exhibitors) ; or two yarn shelves (for yarn exhibitors) ; or one fabric-display stand & one yarn shelf (for exhibitors of both fabrics & yarn), lights, facia board, and one waste-paper basket on the basis of local availability only. Any other extra requirements will have to be borne by participants on the basis of additional costs, which will be charged by the Organizer of the Exhibition.
§ Booth packages offered to those availing 6 sqm booth will include one discussion table, two chairs, one fabric display stand (for fabrics exhibitors), or one yarn shelf (for yarn exhibitors), one fabric stand OR one yarn shelf (for exhibitors of both fabric & yarn) lights, facia board and one waste-paper basket on the basis of local availability only. Any other extra requirements will have to be borne by participants on the basis of additional costs, which will be charged by the Organizer of the Exhibition.
§ Though a very limited number of 6 sqm booths are available, the same will be offered to those not eligible to claim
§ The amounts of participation fees / charges, as mentioned above, are calculated after deduction of TDS. Hence, no further deduction towards TDS will be allowed from the amount of participation fee, as given above.
§ Member-participants will be selected absolutely on “First-come-First-serve” basis with full payment.

How to apply :
Members, who are interested in participating in the above Exhibition, are therefore, requested to immediately confirm their participation by sending the duly filled-in enclosed “Application Form” on the basis of above terms & conditions and the full amount of participation fee, as indicated above. Confirmation of participation in above Exhibition will only be accepted, if participants send their full participation charge through a cheque /DD drawn in favour of “The Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council, Mumbai” at the earliest but not later than 19th December, 2015. Participation charge may also be transferred to the Council on the basis of the RTGS details given in the “Application Form”.
