As you are aware, Vietnam has emerged as one of the leading garment - manufacturing countries in the world, which is currently valued at more than US$ 20 billion.  USA is one of the major buyers, which is sourcing its requirements of garments from Vietnam.  Besides this, Vietnam itself is a market of more than US$ 10 Billion for MMF Textiles, where India’s share is only 1%.  Hence, there is an excellent opportunity and scope for Indian Textiles Manufacturing / Exporting companies to enhance their share in the Vietnamese market of textiles & clothing. 

In this context, Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam is organizing a Fashion Show on 21st February, 2016 to create an excellent platform for the Indian companies to showcase their fabulous fabrics to their discerning customers in Vietnam.  In this regard, Indian Consulate has identified a renowned Fashion Designer: Mr.Le Sy Hoang for promoting Indian fabrics to the customers in the fast growing Vietnamese market.  Mr.Le Sy Hoang will showcase about 15-20 collections during the proposed Fashion Show. 

Requirements of different varieties of fabrics, which will be used for making outfits for the models for showcasing the same during the Fashion Show are as follows:

1) Materials: Polyester or Cotton based fabrics

2) Width of fabrics for making Ao Dai including Trouser (similar to Indian salwar kurta)

a) Width of Ao Dai :

  • width 0.75m :   minimum yardage 4.5m (or)
  • width 1.2m   :  minimum yardage 2.5m (or)
  • width 1.4m   : minimum yardage  2.4m  (or)
  • width 1.6m   : minimum yardage  2.2m

b) Width of Trouser  :

  • width 1.6m:  minimum yardage  1.2 m (or)
  • width 1.2m : minimum yardage  2.2m

c) Sample product photographs : In order to get an idea about the materials that may be useful / required for the proposed Fashion Show, please find some product photographs, which were sent by the Consulate General of India.

Since an Exhibition of Catalogues / Brochures etc. is also scheduled to be organized on the side lines of the Fashion Show, participating companies showcasing -- their fabrics during the proposed Fashion Show also need to send their Company Brochures to the Indian Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City.

In view of the above, since the above mentioned initiatives of the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City offers an excellent opportunity for Indian companies -- producing fabulous fabrics to reach out to their target discerning buyers, you are requested to avail this opportunity for participation in the Fashion Show, which is absolutely cost-free.  It also goes without saying that all the participating Indian companies will be given due credit for their efforts for sending fabric materials to make apparels for their showcasing during the Fashion Show through the above-mentioned eminent Fashion Designer in Vietnam.
