Sub: Urgent Information on DGFT mandatory documents required for import and export

Dear Sir,

Kindly refer to DGFT Notification No.114 (RE-2013)/2009-2014 dated 12th March, 2015 reducing the number of mandatory documents required for import and export to three in each case.

MANDATORY DOCUMENTS FOR EXPORT & IMPORT

The above notification came into effect from 1st April, 2015.

Any Government authority can ask for additional documents only after specifying the reasons for doing so.

In this connection, DGFT have received information from sources stating that the above notification has not been followed at many places of the Regional Authorities (RA’s) of DGFT and more documents are requested from the exporters.

To obtain a true and correct picture, DGFT has directed that information on the actual practice need to be obtained.

In this regard, DGFT has requested us to seek necessary information on the above issue from our member-exporters on the above.

Please send us your views / suggestions on the concerned issue if you have been asked to submit more documents since April 2015.

Since we have to send a consolidated feedback to DGFT, we request you to kindly send us your views / suggestions latest by tomorrow i.e.8th January,  2016 for taking necessary action on the above issue.

Your kind co-operation in the matter shall be highly solicited.

This move introduced by the Government lead to reduction in transaction cost, time and improve Ease of Doing Business for exporters in India.

Members may make a note of the above and do the needful.
