Dear Member,
This is to inform you that Mumbai Customs has issued Public Notice No. 01/2016 dated 4th January, 2016 to all exporters who have exports made within the purview of Zone 1, and have not submitted the Bank Realisation Certificates (BRCs) to the Deputy Commissioner of Customs (Export), Inland Container Depot, Mulund (E), Mumbai 400 081.
It is requested that concerned exporters are required to submit the BRCs (Bank Realisation Certificates) / negative statements issued by the competent authorities in respect of their drawback EDI shipping bills having LEO dates from 1st April 2013 to 1st March 2014 at the earliest to avoid initiation of recovery proceedings.
Non-submission of above mentioned documents within one month’s period shall attract action under Section 75 (1) of the Customs Act, 1962 read with Sub–Rule 16 A (1) of the Customs, Central Excise Duties & Service Tax Drawback Rules 1995 and the recovery of drawback amount will be made in terms of Rule 16 ibid.
