Sub: Awareness Programme on Recent International Trade Agreements signed by India with UAE and Australia.
This is with reference to the recently signed India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (India – UAE CEPA) and India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (India-Australia ECTA).
In this background, we are glad to inform that the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry has decided to organize, in association with GJEPC and support of SRTEPC, an outreach program in Surat to sensitize our exporters from Surat about the benefits and opportunities arising from these FTAs.
Surat is the leading manufacturing hub for MMF and blended textiles in India and one of the major exporting centres. Surat has a significant contribution in segments like textiles, weaving, spinning, processing, zari, other raw materials etc. Hence, Surat’s export industry will be one of the major beneficiaries of these agreements.
Shri Parshottam Rupala, Hon’ble Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department of Revenue, Government of India and Smt. Darshana Vikram Jardosh, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways and Textiles have given kind consent to grace the event with their presence.
Under the leadership of Shri Dhiraj R. Shah, Chairman, SRTEPC a delegation of the Members will participate in the event and share their views.
