Ministry of Textiles seeks inputs/ views/ suggestions on Draft Concept Note on the New Scheme proposed to replace Amended Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (ATUFS)

Sub: Ministry of Textiles seeks inputs/ views/ suggestions on Draft Concept Note on the New Scheme proposed to replace Amended Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (ATUFS) 

Dear Member,       

As you are aware, the earlier TUF Scheme, introduced by the Ministry of Textiles was later upgraded to MTUFS, RTUFS, RRTUFS and ATUFS to facilitate modernization/ technology upgradation of textiles sector. Since ATUFS was valid only upto 31^st March, 2022, the O/o Textile Commissioner based on the directions of the Ministry of Textiles had initially proposed a concept named, Textile Technology Development Scheme (TTDS) to replace ATUFS and conducted a stakeholders discussion on 13th January, 2022. 

In this connection, along with other Associations, the Council requested the Ministry to extend ATUFS till the Government comes out with a new scheme at various forums of TxC.  

Now, the Council has received a message from O/o Textile Commissioner, Mumbai informing that the Ministry of Textiles has requested inputs/views/suggestions from Textile Stakeholders on the Draft Concept Note (enclosed) on the new scheme proposed to replace the ATUFS for modernization in textile sector on PLI pattern. The draft note has been formulated by the Ministry with the objective of incentivizing modernization of various segments of textile industry in line with PLI pattern to replace ATUFS. 

Members are therefore requested to kindly go through the Draft Concept Note and provide your valuable inputs/views/suggestions in the following format to the Council at  

ed@srtepc.in,  baruah@srtepc.in and es@srtepc.in latest by 8^th August, 2022 (Monday) till 12 Noon for enabling us to prepare a comprehensive note and send the same to the O/o Textile Commissioner for onward submission to the Ministry of Textiles.
