Re: Invitation to participate in COLOMBIATEX, Medellin from 24 to 26 January 2023
Dear Members,
As part of the Export Promotion Activities of the Council, SRTEPC is organizing participation of Indian companies in Colombiatex in Medellin, Colombia from 24 to 26 January 2023 in association with Embassy of India in Bogota. The participation of Indian companies in Colombiatex is supported by Ministries of Textiles/Commerce & Industry under the MAI Scheme of Govt. of India.
About Colombiatex :
COLOMBIATEX is the largest Fair in Latin America for the entire Textile Value Chain, attracting buyers from all over the LAC region to source their textile requirements. The textile and apparel sector are one of the most important sectors in Colombia. The Colombian market offers tremendous opportunity for supply of yarns and fabrics for the manufacture of apparel.
The highlights of SRTEPC participation in COLOMBIATEX are as follows:

· Venue : Convention and Exposition Center, Plaza Mayor, Medellin
· Duration of the Fair : 3 Days (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday)
· Dates : 24th , 25th, & 26th January, 2023

· Exhibitor Profiles : Manufacturers, Exporters / Traders of Textiles, / Textiles Raw Materials, Textiles & Apparel Equipment and Machinery, specialized services.
· Product Profile : All types of Yarn, Fabrics, Fashion Fabrics including embroidered fabrics, Suiting, Shirting, Made-Ups, Fashion Accessories, Home Textiles etc,
· Minimum Number of participants: 15 member-companies under MAI Scheme.
Participation Fees under MAI Scheme:
9 sqm – Rs.2.90 Lakhs
Bigger size of booths is also available.
Booth Package: 1 Table, 3 Chairs, 2 Fabric display Rod/Stand OR 2 Yarn Shelves, 1 Fascia Board, 1 dustbin, 3 Lights, 1 power socket.
Please note that the participation fee is subsidized as per the MAI grant, but does not include airfare, hotel accommodation, transportation etc. and the GST on participation fees has been waived off.
Deadline for accepting Application Form: 30th September, 2022
Publicity & Promotion: The event will be publicized extensively by Inexmoda, the Organizers of the renowned International Fair in Colombia. The Council will also publicize the Fair suitably through a separate Exhibitors Catalogue, sending invites to relevant textile importers in Colombia and coordinate with the Indian Embassy to promote the event to the leading importers of textiles & clothing, among other publicity measures.

Visa: Though participants will have to obtain their visa on their own, the Council shall, however, facilitate their efforts to get Colombian Visa with the help of the Indian Embassy in Bogota.
Colombian Textile Market:
· Colombia is one of the growing markets for MMF textiles in the Latin American Region (LAC).
· Exports of Indian MMF textiles to Colombia during 2020-21 were around US$ 53 million.
· Colombia’s total global import of MMF textiles were around US$ 1 billion during 2021 in which India’s share is only 4%. There is substantial scope to further increase our exports to Colombia.
· Yarn were the dominant products with nearly 75% share followed by fabric 14%, made ups 7%, Fibre 4% and
· Imports of Textile & Clothing by Colombia from the world were US$ 3 billion during 2021.
· India’s share in total imports of Textile & Clothing of Colombia is 11%, worth US$ 278 million in 2021.
· Textile imports of Colombia from the world account for nearly 72% (US$ 2 billion) of its total T&C imports.
· Clothing imports of Colombia from the world account for nearly 23% (US$ 583 million) of its total T&C imports.
· Major Indian MMF textiles being exported to Colombia are Polyester Viscose Yarn, Polyester texturized yarn, Synthetic filament yarn, polyester staple fibre, polyester viscose fabrics etc.
· Major suppliers of MMF Textiles to Colombia are China, Vietnam, USA, India, Brazil, Pakistan etc.
· Hence, there is tremendous scope to increase India’s exports to Colombia and increase our market share.
Apply for participation: Exporters registered with SRTEPC, and other Textile and Apparel EPC’s can apply for participation. Members interested to participate in the above event are requested to send their duly filled in “Application Form” with participation fee by way of Demand Draft/Cheque at par in favor of “The Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council, Mumbai. Participation charge may also be sent to the Council through RTGS/NEFT transfer based on the Bank details given below.
Participation will be accepted on “First-come-First served basis”.
Considering the limited availability of time for confirmation of participation in the above Fair, we look forward to receiving your confirmation at the earliest.
Cancellation Policy:
Withdrawal of participation from the above Fair will be allowed on the basis of the following:
ü 80% Cancellation charge, if withdrawn on or before 15th October 2022
ü No refund will be available, if withdrawn thereafter.
