IMPORTANT & URGENT

                                                                                                                       Date: 2nd September, 2016

TO THE MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL

Dear Sir,

Re: Invitation to participate in “Jakarta International Yarn & Fabric Show” (JIFS) in Jakarta, Indonesia from 23 to 25 November, 2016

We are glad to inform you that the Council is scheduled to organize participation of its member-companies in 6th Jakarta International Yarn & Fabric Show (JIFS) in Indonesia in association with the concerned Embassy of India under the Market Development Assistance (MDA) on the dates, as mentioned above.

As you are aware, Indonesia has a vibrant Garment and a Textile Industry.  Though Indonesia does produce textiles items, the market also regularly sources its excess requirements of yarn and fabrics to cater to the requirements of its International markets from various overseas sourcing centers including India.  Indonesia imported over US$ 5 Billion of MMF Textiles from the world during 2014.  However, India’s share in its (Indonesia’s) total import of MMF Textiles was merely US$ 63.61 Million, which is just 1%.  Considering this, there is a huge scope for enhancing our current export of man-made textiles to Indonesia.  Hence, participation in this International Fair will provide member-companies an excellent opportunity to the existing exporters to this market to further explore the possibilities of expanding their current export-trade, besides helping those new entrants develop trade contacts for doing business with their prospective customers of textiles including fabrics and yarn to cater to the requirements of this potential Textile market.

In this regard, in order to organize various requirements of the participating member-companies in particular, and the International Fair in general, the Council is in close touch with M/s. Conference & Exhibition Management Services Ltd. (CEMS), which is the Organizer of the Fair.

Why to participate in JIFS?

  • Indonesia, considered as one of the top five apparel exporting countries to the U.S. with its total exports of the sector surpassing USD 9 Billion, is projecting a 13% growth in textile and apparel export.
  • JIFS will be the biggest & oldest Textile Garment Technology & Apparel Expo of Indonesia.
  • It is targeted to the entire textile & garment industry Indonesia.

  • India’s share in total imports of Textile & Clothing of Indonesia is 2.30% ----amounting to US$ 201.15 million in 2015.
