Sub:  Delay in issuing of Sub Manifest Transhipment Permit (SMTP)

Dear Sir,

This is to inform you that the Central Board of Excise and Customs has issued Instruction – F. No. 450/25/2009- Cus- IV dated 07^th September, 2016 regarding the delay in issuing of SMTP.

In this connection, Niti Aayog has recommended that Customs will issue SMTP for transfer of cargo destined to ICDs by rail without waiting for full discharge of vessel is accepted. It should strictly be ensured that there is no delay in granting SMTP.

Members are requested to make note of the above.
