Sub : Introduction of SMS based SAD Refund Information System (S- RIS)
Dear Member,
We are glad to inform you that the Office of the Commissioner of Customs, Air Cargo Complex- Sahar (Mumbai) has issued Facility Notice No. 10/2016-17 dated 09.09.2016 on the above subject.
In this connection, attention is invited to the Public Notice No. 40/2015-16 dated 15.03.2016 regarding implementation of Sevottam for General Commissionerate of Air Cargo Complex, Mumbai Customs Zone- III.
CBEC has introduced a surplus of measures for facilitation of genuine trade to spur the pace of 'Ease of Doing Business’. With the recent push towards reducing the pendency of refund claims and quick disposal thereof, Mumbai Air Cargo Complex has decided to control information technology to track and intimate the present status of such claims to the importers.
In continuation of the above measures the Office of the Commissioner of Customs (General), Mumbai Zone-III has initiated an "SMS based SAD refund information systems (S-RIS)" which was inaugurated by Mr. Devendra Singh, Chief Commissioner of Customs, Mumbai Zone-III on 1st September, 2016.
From now onwards manual registration of Special Additional Duty (SAD) Refund claims is being done away with. All the data pertaining to such refund claims filed by the members shall be electronically captured and a message regarding the status of such application will be sent on the Mobile Number registered with the department. In cases of there being any deficiency in the refund claims the system will be sending an SMS to the member informing on such deficiencies. Further, the date and time on which personal hearing, if so required, will also be intimated via an SMS. Lastly when the refund order is finally processed the final status of the claim will be intimated to the member by the systems.
