Sub: Merchandise Exports from India Scheme (MEIS) —Additions/ Amendments in Table 2 [containing ITC (HS) code wise list of products with reward rates] of Appendix 3B

Dear Sir,

We are glad to inform you that the Government has announced support under Merchandise Exports from India Scheme (MEIS) vide DGFT Public Notice No. 32/2015-20 dated 22^nd September, 2016 making additions/amendments in Table 2 of Appendix 3B of the Merchandise Exports from India Scheme (MEIS).

As you are aware, the Council has been rigorously following up the issue for inclusion of all MMF items under the MEIS as it hardly offered any support to MMF Textiles items to its potential markets.

The following are the major highlights of the support:-

Addition of new products –

2901 additional products falling under different product categories have been added with immediate effect.
Industrial products under different categories, including fabrics, garments, made ups, etc.

Increase in MEIS rates –

Rates of 575 product items falling under 11 products categories including a few MMF Textile items have been increased from 2% to 3% with immediate effect.

With this the total number of items covered under the scheme has been increased from 5012 to 7103. The total support extended by Government of India under the scheme has been enhanced from the present Rs 22,000 crore to Rs 23,500 crore per annum.

Members are requested to make a note of the above additions/amendments while claiming benefit under the MEIS.
