Sub: Introduction of new facility for payment of drawback and other refunds by Drawback (M) section directly to Exporter's Bank Accounts instead by way of issuing of cheques

 Dear Member,

We are glad to inform you that the Office of the Commissioner of Customs, Sahar (Mumbai) has issued Facility Notice No. 14/2016 dated 20.10.2016 intimating about the new facility for payment of drawback and other refunds by Drawback (M) section directly to Exporter’s Bank Accounts by way of National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT)/ Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) in place of cheque payment. This new facility will help to avoid delay in the payment of drawback amounts.

The salient features of this new facility is as follows:-

1. The new facility shall be available only after drawback claims filed after issuance of this facility notice. However, the facility could be extended to past claims where order- in- original have not been issued.

2. The claimants who desire to avail the facility shall provide an authorization in duplicate.

3. As per State Bank of India, Sahar (Andheri)  the transfer of credit of Drawback to current account of a claimant  in any branch of SBI in India shall bear no charges and can transfer  their fund as per convenience of 24 x 7 basis.

4. If the payment is to be made to the respective claimant in their non- SBI nA/c, the same would attract NEFT/ RTGS charges plus service charges as applicable as per RBI and SBI guidelines and the facility would be available for limited hours on Saturday.
