Sub: Issue of Sub Manifest Transhipment Permit (SMTPs) in respect of cargo destined to ICDs by Rail
Dear Member,
This is to inform you that the Office of the Commissioner of Customs, JNCH (Nhava Sheva) has issued Public No. 167/2016-17 dated 05.12.2016 intimating about the issuance of Sub Manifest Transhipment Permit.
In order to expedite the transfer of cargo destined to ICDs by rail, SMTPs are being issued without waiting for full discharge of vessel. All Custom officers / concerned staff are instructed to ensure strict compliance while carrying out this procedure.
Further, in order to further facilitate this procedure, it has been decided vide Public Notice No 151/2016-17, dated 21.11.2016 that in case of any error in online system, the work of approving IGM Number in the system will be done by Boarding section also in addition to the Import Noting section.
Therefore, in such cases, Boarding office will ensure to approve IGM Number in the system so that SMTPs are automated & transmitted to shipping lines/ terminals/ ICD customs without waiting for full discharge of vessel even on weekends and holidays.
