Re: Invitation to participate in exclusive Indian Textile Exhibition (INTEXPO) Kenya on March 9^th and 10th, 2017

Dear Sir,

We are glad to inform you that the Council is organizing the Indian Textile Exhibition (INTEXPO) Kenya on March 9^th & 10^th, 2017 in association with the concerned Indian Mission and with the active support of the local Trade Bodies to develop exports of MMF Textiles to Kenya which is an emerging textile market in the African region. The details of the proposed Exhibitions are as follows:

Name of Exhibition: INTEXPO Kenya
Dates: March 9^th (Thursday) & 10^th (Friday), 2017
Venue: 5-Star Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.(To be finalized shortly)
Participation charges: Rs.1,65,000/- for a furnished booth of 9 sqm(3m x 3m)

Early Bird Discount (EBD): An Early Bird Discount of Rs.5,000/- will be offered (on the participation charges mentioned above) to those companies confirming their participation with full payment of Rs.1.65 lakhs along with the dully filled in “SRTEPC Application Form (download)” on or before 25^th January, 2017 (Wednesday). It may be noted that this EBD discount will not be available after 25^th January, 2017 under any circumstances.

Last Date: for confirming participation in the Fair is Monday, 6th February, 2017.

Market Development Assistance (MDA): An amount of Rs. 1.20 lakh will be given to the 20 eligible member-participants on first-cum-first serve basis, subject to submitting all relevant documents as per MDA guidelines on time and fulfillment of the following conditions:

The company must complete 12 months membership with the Council and must have fully paid current years membership
The company’s FOB value of exports in the preceding year should be between Rs. 1 lakh and Rs 30 crores
The company must file its export returns regularly with the Council.
The company shall not be under investigation/ charged/prosecuted/ debarred/black listed under the Foreign Trade Policy of India or any other law relating to export and import business
MDA will not be available to exporter of foreign nationality or holding foreign passport
A member exporter shall be eligible for claiming only one MDA for participation in Focus Africa in a financial year

Publicity: The Council will give special promotional support for participating companies by way of advertisements, digital marketing, publicity folders, direct mail etc. with the help of Professional Event Management Agencies to ensure visit of prospective buyers to the exhibitions in Ethiopia and Kenya. It may also be mentioned here that publicity and promotional campaigns for organizing the above Exhibitions will also be targeted to invite some buyers from the neighboring markets, which are also considered as potential countries having requirements of textiles.

Visa, Hotel accommodation & Group transportations: The Council will assist participants to obtain Visa for attending the Exhibitions in co-ordination with the Indian Missions in Ethiopia and Kenya. Participants will also be assisted for booking their air-tickets and arranging hotel accommodations. Furthermore, Council will also assist to arrange group transportation of participants from airport to Hotel.

Highlights of the Kenya Textile Market:

Imports of Textile & Clothing by Kenya from the world were US$ 2013.13 million during 2015.
India’s share in total imports of Textile & Clothing of Kenya is nearly 5%, worth US$ 103 million in 2015.
Textile imports of Kenya from the world account for nearly 42% (US$ 849.65 million) of its total T&C imports.
Clothing imports of Kenya from the world account for nearly 25% (US$ 498.99 million) of its total T&C imports.
Imports of Made-ups from the world reached over US$ 297.72 million with a share of nearly 15%.
Kenya’s total imports of MMF textiles from the world during 2015 stood at US$ 335.69 Million, of which India’s share was only US$ 55.01 Million (16%).
Hence, there is tremendous scope to increase India’s exports to Kenya and increase our market share.

Terms & Conditions for participation:

The participants will be provided with a booth package of 1 table, 3 chairs, 1 fabric display stand & 1 yarn shelf, adequate lights, 1 power socket, Facia Board and 1 waste paper basket. Any additional requirements for furniture/ product display equipments etc. will have to be made by participants with extra payments.
Ready booths will be handed over to participants in the evening on the previous day of the Exhibition to help them to dress up the same with their product-samples, posters etc.
Booths will be positioned at the venue on the basis of alphabetical arrangements of participating company-names.
Considering limited space availability, participants will be allocated booths on First-Come-First-Serve basis will full payment and duly filled in 'Application Form (download)'.
Cancellation Policy: Withdrawal of participation from the above Exhibition will be allowed on the basis of the following :

80% cancellation charge shall be levied on the application amount, if withdrawn latest by 24^th January, 2017.
No refund will be available, if withdrawn thereafter.

How to Apply: In view of the limited time, members interested in participation are requested to send their duly filled-in 'Application Form (download)' along with participation charge, as mentioned above, directly to the Council vide a cheque or DD (for outstation parties) drawn in favour of "The Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council, Mumbai" at the earliest but not later than Monday, 6th February, 2017. However, in order to save time member-participants may also like to send their payments for participation charge through RTGS (for Bank details, please refer the enclosed Application Form)
