Sub: Errors in the bank account Nos. IFSC codes, etc given by the exporters for processing claims of duty drawback
Dear Member,
Attention is invited to our Circular No.ES/343 /2016-17 dated 20.03.2017 wherein CBEC had issued Instructions No. 3/2017-Customs dated 16.03.2017 on the above subject.
It has been brought to the notice of the Board by systems Directorate that at times errors exist in the bank account number, IFSC code, etc. given by exporters, which leads to rejection of claim for payment of Duty Drawback by the local bank authorities.
In view of the above, Members of Trade are advised to immediately provide correct Bank account details, IFSC code, etc. in respect of IECs pointed out by Systems Directorate for smooth disbursal of Duty Drawback to ensure that drawback claims are not rejected for want of correct account details.
Now, Mumbai Customs has issued Public Notice No. 36/2017 dated 21.03.2017 on the above subject.
Members may kindly make note of the same and do the needful.
