Sub: Customs working on 24 X 7, extension of working of assessment group on all Saturdays
Dear Member,
This is to inform you that JNCH (Nhava Sheva) has issued Public Notice No. 65/2017 dated 26.05.2017 on the above subject.
As you may be aware, Customs is working on 24 X 7 basis as regards to various customs activities and committed to provide efficient & prompt services.
As members of Trade are facing difficulties in early clearance of cargo if Bill of entry is filed either on Friday evening or Saturdays as they have to wait till next working day if such Bill of entry is not facilitated for assessment, so it has been decided by JNCH Customs that all assessment group will also function on every Saturday.
It has to be ensured by each assessment group working on such Saturdays that there is no pendency of bill of entry by the end of day.
