Textiles Labeling and Marking
Ministry of Textiles vide letter No. 12020/02/2016-IT dated 20/042017 has informed that leading newspaper in New Delhi on March 19, 2017 carried an article “Comprehensive textile labelling regulation need of the hour” wherein Smt. Pushpa Girimaji talks about labelling regulation. This has prompted the Ministry to bring a Comprehensive textile labelling regulation to protect textile consumers and requested Office of the Textile Commissioner to prepare a draft proposal on labelling for textiles after consultations with CMAI and other Associations.
The Council seeks the views of the members of the Committee of Administration towards this endeavor. Kindly send your points/suggestions to the Council latest by 22nd July 2017.
