Re : Confirmation of participation in EXPOTEXTIL, Peru from 8th to 11th November 2018

Dear Member,

We are glad to inform you that SRTEPC is organizing participation of its member-companies in EXPOTEXTIL, Peru, an Int’l Fair, which is being organized by M/s. Plastic Concept from 8th to 11th November 2018. Participation of Indian companies in the above Fair in Peru is being organized by the Council with active assistance and guidance of Embassy of India in Peru and support of Ministries of Commerce & Textiles, Govt. of India.

EXPOTEXTIL, Peru is intended to showcase the latest range of Indian textile items encompassing fibres, yarns, fabrics, embroidered fabrics, home textiles, made-ups, fashion accessories etc. by member-companies of the Council for developing valuable trade contacts with their target Peruvian Buyers.

Market Potential :

Latin America is a focus area with huge potential for export expansion of textiles, as Indian exporters are yet not very familiar with these markets. Among the LA countries, Peru holds potential for increase in exports of textiles from India. Though Peru imports textiles worth around USD 1.80 Million during 2017, India’s share in the market is still very negligible at 11.78%, worth USD 0.21 Million in 2017.  Hence, there is tremendous scope for increasing India’s export of textiles to Peru, and the Council’s show is meant to help its member-companies to achieve this objective.

We may mention here that as far as the export of Man Made Fibre Fabrics is concerned, fabrics made out of Polyester Staple Fibre and Viscose Staple Fibre (covered under HS Code: 5515.11.00) attract Anti Dumping Duties in Peru.

Exports of MMF Textiles to Peru :

India exports Man-made Fibre Textiles to Peru, which is valued at USD 0.05 Million (8.67%) during 2017. While yarn constitutes the bulk of the exports, fabrics, fibre and made-ups are also being exported. The main items that are being exported to Peru include Polyester Viscose Fabrics, Acrylic Spun Fabrics, Polyester Spun Fabrics, Polyester Wool Fabrics, Polyester Filament Fabrics, Made-ups, Polyester Textured Yarn, Polyester Cotton Yarn, Viscose Spun Yarn, Polyester Spun yarn and Polyester Staple Fibre.

Financial support through Market Access Initiative (MAI) Scheme :

Participation in EXPOTEXTIL, Peru by member-participants is approved to claim MAI subsidy given by the Ministry of Commerce & Industries, Govt. of India. Based on the MAI subsidy, eligible member-participants will be able to participate in the Fair in Peru with highly subsidized participation fees.

Special arrangements for small member-companies :

As part of our Government’s efforts to encourage small/marginal exporting companies to visit Int’l Fairs of repute to meet their prospective customers of textiles, SRTEPC has curved out a few smaller booths of 6 sqm size to accommodate its members in EXPOTEXTIL at a rock bottom price of Rs. 1.25 Lakhs.

Re-imbursement of the cost of Air-fares :

In addition to the above mentioned subsidized participation fees, any member-companies of the Council with their annual export turnover not exceeding Rs. 30 Crores in the previous year (2017-18) will also be eligible to get re-imbursement/refund of part costs of their air-fares.

Participation fees :

Against the actual costs of Rs. 2.85 Lakhs (for a booth of 9 sqm) and Rs. 2.05 Lakhs (for a booth of 6 sqm) for participation in EXPOTEXTIL, which the Council is paying to M/s. Plastic Concept (Organizers of the Fair), based on the MAI financial grant received from the Government, the Council has fixed participation fees of Rs. 1.80 Lakhs for a 9 sqm sized booth. However, a very limited number of smaller booths (6 sqm size) have also been earmarked for very small member-companies, which are not in a position to visit their customers abroad due to poor financial structure, as mentioned above. Participation fee is, therefore, fixed for a 6 sqm booth is Rs. 1.25 Lakhs

Please note, the participation fee include expenses for a fully furnished booth (with name on fascia, lights, table, chairs, basic furniture/props for display. The fee also covers expenses towards publicity/promotion in the Fair. However, the participation fee does not include airfares, hotel charges etc. of representatives of participating companies.

Early Bird Discount :

An Early Bird Discount of Rs. 8,000 for a booth of 9 sqm and Rs. 4,000 for a booth of 6 sqm will be available only for those who will make payment on or before 1st July 2018. No Early Bird Discount will be available after 1st July 2018, and hence thereafter participation fee will be payable without any Early Bird Discount.

Hence, net amount of participation fee after Early Bird Discount will be Rs. 1.72 Lakhs (for 9 sqm sized booth), and Rs. 1.21 Lakhs (for 6 sqm sized booth), provided full payment is made on or before 1st July 2018.
