Re: Participation in TEXFUSION, London, UK from 31st October to 1st November 2018

We are glad to inform you that the Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC) is organizing participation of its member-companies and others in “TEXFUSION”, London, UK from 31st October to 1st November 2018. This Event is part of the Export Promotion Program of the Council for 2018-19, which is approved by the Ministry of Commerce (MoC), Govt. of India under the Market Access Initiative (MAI) Scheme.

TEXFUSION is the first Trade Fair in UK, which caters exclusively to the demand of International textiles by European fashion trends, retailers and manufacturers. Since the well known “The London Textile Fair” (TLTF) was absolutely meant for the participation of the European companies, due to high demand for sourcing textiles from the non-European community by UK Buyers and store chain representatives, a new show called, “TEXFUSION” was created, which has been dedicated for participation by International companies. TEXFUSION has accordingly grown exponentially during the past years, and now the fair includes beside the fashion fabrics and accessories hall, 3 new additional halls that completely dedicated to technical fabrics, home textiles and garment manufacturers. Currently, TEXFUSION has become the largest UK Show focused on non-European textile manufacturers. The last show had more than 100 exhibitors, from 22 countries including UK, United States, Romania, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Brazil, South Korea, Taiwan, China and India.

Visitor Profile: TEXFUSION is the UK-destination for buying and design teams from leading fashion houses in search of fabric collections, and updates for the current season. The Fair attracts all of the influential High Street Multiples, manufacturers and designer brands. Exhibitors in TEXFUSION include companies - showcasing Fashion Fabrics, Technical Textiles, Garments, Accessories and Home Textiles. The combination of the two shows (including concurrently held: The London Print Design Fair) held during the last time attracted 2287 visitors in two days. An entirely dedicated new section for “Denim” launched during the last edition of TEXFUSION immediately received a very positive response from the British market. The increased multispectral offer was welcomed by the British Buyer, which was highly acclaimed by the top British and international fashion and textiles professionals. It’s worth to note here that TEXFUSION is dedicated only to the TRADE VISITORS, and hence, general public won’t be admitted in the hall.

Products on display: The Fair will showcase a wide and carefully selected range of fabrics of all types including embroidered, knitted, denim, eco-friendly fabrics, technical textiles, home textiles, lace, fake fur, trims, accessories, zips and apparels.

Why UK for organizing participation in Fair? India and the United Kingdom share a modern partnership, bound by strong historical ties. UK has been an important market for textile products. It is one of the leading textile importing countries in the European Union (EU). Recent exit of UK from the EU opened up excellent opportunities for India to enhance bilateral trade relationship directly with UK. The partnership has been proposed to grab the newly emerged trade/business/export opportunities. Huge feedbacks received during the last more than four years from member-companies for organizing a participation of Indian companies in UK also highlight the unrealized potential of the UK market by Indian companies.

Market Potential for Textiles & Apparels: UK is one of the highly potential and fast-growing textile & apparel markets in the world with an import value of more than US$ 29 Billion during 2016. India’s share in UK’s global import of textile products was around 8% (US$ 2.23 Billion in value terms). A brief analysis on UK’s import of textiles and clothing during 2016 reveals that India’s share in this market for Man Made Filaments and Man Made Staple Fibre products is 5.7% and 3.6% respectively, while non-woven and textiles for technical use is 3.3% and 1% respectively. Share of cotton, cotton yarn and woven fabrics is 8%. As regards wool and woolen products, India accounts for around 6% share in the UK’s market, whereas, in apparel and clothing accessories, India accounts for a share of 8% in the market.
