Re: Calamity of severe nature in Kerala— An appeal to contribute generously towards helping fellow citizens in this hour of crisis
Dear Member,
One of the worst floods in a century in Kerala would take years to rebuild its people’s lives. Over a million people are in Relief Camps...one lakh buildings, which includes people’s houses, have been destroyed, thousands of km of bridges have been washed away, and crops in millions of hectares of land have been lost in the flood. Govt. has estimated a loss of Rs 20,000 crores. State’s top-most priority currently is to rescue its people, and provide lakhs of the affected with relief materials .Experts admit that rebuilding the state will be a “daunting task”.
We all are saddened to hear the sufferings of the people in Kerala due to its worst floods. Nature has played havoc, displacing thousands of fellow Indian citizens . Let us all get together and extend whole-hearted help to them in this hour of crisis. This compassionate initiative hopefully will go a long way in helping the affected people and rehabilitating them without delay.
Our Hon’ble Prime Minister too has made an an appeal to the citizens of India to generously contribute to this noble cause.
We, at the SRTEPC, have committed to extend assistance to the sufferers by liberally contributing to help them.
In view of the above, we humbly request all our members to please contribute generously along with their Council to enable us to form a substantial corpus for this cause. You may please send your cheques in favour of The SRTEPC (The Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Council).
In case you have already contributed directly or through any organisation, please inform us so that the same can be taken for compiling the data on contributions to this noble cause on behalf of our Council.
