Sub.: Acceptance of new format for IEC

Dear Member,

Kindly refer to Council’s earlier Circular No.ES/153/2018-19  dated 10^th August, 2018 wherein O/o DGFT had issued Trade Notice No. 23/ 2015- 2020 dated 08^th August, 2018 informing about the amendment in Policy and Procedures for online IEC applications.                                                  

Now, O/o DGFT has issued Trade Notice No. 27/2018-19 dated 28^th August, 2018 regarding acceptance of new format for IEC.

Please note the following:

• W.e.f. 09^th August, 2018, photograph in the IEC has been dispensed with.
• IEC is now PAN- based system generated code and may no longer be treated as identity card for identity purposes.

Members may kindly make a note of the above.
