Sub.: Recommendations made by the GST Council regarding Rate changes and clarification in Goods
Dear Member,
We would like to inform you that the Ministry of Finance has issued a Press Release informing about the decisions taken during the 31st GST Council Meeting held on 22nd December, 2018 in New Delhi relating to changes in GST rates, and clarification (on Goods)
Relevant extract of the Press Release is given here- below:-
It has been clarified by the GST Council that the fabric, if embroidered or has stitching of lace and tikki etc., and even if sold in three piece fabric as ladies suit set, will be classifiable as fabric and would attract 5% GST.
