Sub.: CBIC amends Notification No.52/2003-Customs dated 31.03.2003 for extending exemption from IGST and compensation cess to EOUs on imports till 31.03.2020
Dear Member,
We would like to inform you that CBIC has issued Notification No. 9/2019-Customs dated 25th March, 2019 extending the date of exemption of Integrated Goods & Service Tax and Compensation Cess upto 31st March, 2020 on goods imported by Export Oriented Units (EOUs).
In this regard, the Council had earlier issued Circular No. ES/225/2018-19 dated 25th September, 2018 in which CBIC had issued Notification No. 65/2018- Customs dated 24th September, 2018 extending the date of exemption of Integrated Tax and Compensation Cess upto 31.03.2019 on goods imported by Export Oriented Units (EOUs).
