Dear Member,
We would like to inform you that the stakeholders meeting was held on 12th June, 2019 under the Chairpersonship of the Hon’ble Union Minister of Textiles at New Delhi to discuss the issues related to knitwear scheme.
Given below are the Highlights of the Minutes of the meeting (copy enclosed) as received from the Ministry of Textiles–
Knitwear Scheme under Power Tex India was launched on 27th January, 2019.
The Eight components of the Knitwear Scheme was presented on power point and discussed with the stakeholders representing the industry from across the country.
Hon’ble Minister assured all necessary help for skill development in the knitwear segment under the ‘SAMARTH’ the Flagship Scheme of the Ministry.
After due deliberations, the following decisions were taken:-
Ministry will coordinate with the knitwear industry associations to avail detailed information about their specific need, formulation of course curriculum training of trainers and assist them in taking up necessary skill development in the knitwer clusters.
Women hostel shall be set up under the appropriate scheme of Ministry of Women & Child Development (MoWCD).
Ministry of Textiles will send proposal to MoWCD in this regard, which will be dovetailed to the Group Workshed Scheme subsequently.
The scheme for Solar Energy was discussed for knitwear sector.
