Sub.: EIC defers the closure of EIA, Sub – office: Coimbatore till the implementation of issuance of online Certificate of Origin and Health Certificates
Dear Member,
Consequent to the request made by some of our member–exporters, the Council had sent representation to the Ministry of Commerce & Industry and Export Inspection Council (EIC), New Delhi requesting not to shift the Export Inspection Agency (EIA) from Coimbatore to Tuticorin, as such a measure would affect the interest of the member–exporters in Coimbatore Region.
In this connection, we would like to inform you that the Export Inspection Council (EIC) has now issued an Office Order No.2019/17 dated 2nd September, 2019 deferring the closure till the implementation of issuance of online Certificate of Origin and Health Certificates.
