Re: Invitation to participate in COLOMBIATEX, Medellin from 21 to 23^rd January, 2020 with financial grant Under the MAI Scheme, MoC, Govt . of India.

Dear Members,

SRTEPC will be mobilizing participation of its member-companies and others in COLOMBIATEX being organized in Medellin City, Colombia from 21 to 23 January 2020.

Since the program is being organized under the Market Access Initiative (MAI) Scheme of the Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India, all eligible participating companies will be given financial assistance through subsidized participation charges, subject to the fulfillment of certain conditions.

COLOMBIATEX is the largest Fair in Latin America for the entire Textile Value Chain, attracting buyers from all over the LAC region to source their textile requirements. The textile and apparel sector is one of the most important sectors in Colombia. The Colombian market offers tremendous opportunity for supply of yarns and fabrics for the manufacture of apparel.

The event will be publicized extensively by Inexmoda, the Organizers of the renowned International Fair in Colombia. The Council will also publicize the Fair suitably through a separate Exhibitors Catalogue, sending invites to relevant textile importers in Colombia and coordinate with the Indian Embassy to promote the event to the leading importers of textiles & clothing, among other publicity measures.

The highlights of participation in COLOMBIATEX are as follows:

• Product Profile                     : All types of Yarn, Fabrics, Fashion Fabrics including embroidered fabrics, Suiting, Shirting, Made-Ups, Fashion Accessories, Home Textiles etc, 
• Participation Fees               : The following booths are available on a ‘First Come First Serve Basis’ at the charges indicated against each:

Booth package:

·    6  sqm booth & 7.5 Sqm Booth: Wall Partitions, Carpet, Company name on the Facia, 1 Reception Desk, 1 Round Table, 2 Chairs, 2 Spot lights, 1 fabric display stand rod OR 1 yarn shelf, 1 Power Socket, 1 Waste paper basket.

·    9 sqm booth: Wall Partitions, Carpet, Company name on the Facia, 1 Reception Desk, 1 Round Table, 3 Chairs, 3 Spot lights, 2 fabric display stands or 2 Yarn shelves, 1 Power Socket, 1 Waste paper basket.

Please note that the participation fee is subsidized as per the MAI grant, but does not include airfare, hotel accommodation, transportation etc and the GST on participation fees has been waived off.

Financial Grant: 

1. As SRTEPC is organizing participation of member-companies in COLOMBIATEX, which is an approved program of MoC/MoT, Govt. of India under the MAI Scheme, all eligible participating companies have been offered MAI subsidy for reduced amount of participation charge as above, subject to the fulfillment of certain conditions.
2. SRTEPC will provide to all eligible participants re-imbursement of costs of 2-way air-fares, subject to the fulfillment of certain conditions.  The reimbursement of cost of economy class air-fare to eligible participants will be limited with a maximum ceiling of Rs.1 Lakh (actual cost or Rs.1 Lakh, whichever is lower)
3. Conditions for availing MAI subsidy:  

• ​​Exporters, who have already availed subsidized fees for participation in the Fair under MAI Scheme for 3 or more times during the past years —will not be able to get MAI subsidy for the 4^th time participation in the Fair. But they will be allowed to participate in the Fair without MAI subsidy.
• An exporter can avail MAI benefit for participation in 2 approved events in a financial year.
• An exporter can claim MAI benefit for participation in one booth only. Additional booths can be booked by the participant without MAI benefit (One booth per company only for MAI eligibility)

Visa: Though participants will have to obtain their visa on their own, the Council shall, however, facilitate their efforts to get Colombian Visa with the help of the Indian Embassy in Bogota, and the Ministry of Textile, Govt. of India

Hotel Reservation: Council will help to identify good hotels near to the venue at competitive rates in Medellin, in co-ordination with the Embassy of India for the benefit of our participants.

Colombian Textile/Clothing scenario: Colombia’s total import of textiles & clothing from the world is USD 2283.16 Million in 2018.  It’s global import of MMF Textiles is USD 961.60 Million during the year 2018.  India’s share in the Colombian market is 7% (or around USD 67.26 Million).

High-lights of Market potential for Man-made Fibre Textiles:

Colombia is a potential market for Indian MMF textiles as per the statistics given below:

• Total import of man-made fibre textiles by Colombia in 2018 was US$ 961.60 Million, of which US$ 301.21 Million was yarn, US$ 489.01 Million was fabrics, US$ 128.25 Million was made-ups and US$ 43.14 Million was fibre.
• Colombia’s import of MMF textiles from India during 2018 was US$ 67.26 Million - accounting for 7% share in its total import of MMF textiles.
• Product share in the export basket of Indian MMF textiles to Colombia was yarn 16.24%, fibre 5.48%, fabrics 2.60% and made-ups 2.56%.
• Main countries Colombia imported MMF textiles from were USA, China, Republic of Korea, Brazil, Japan, etc.

Apply for participation: Exporters registered with SRTEPC and other Textile and Apparel EPC’s can apply for participation. Members interested to participate in the above event are requested to send their duly filled in "Aplication Form (download)"  with participation fee by way of Demand Draft/Cheque at par in favour of “The Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council, Mumbai. Participation charge may also be sent to the Council through RTGS/NEFT transfer based on the Bank details, given in the enclosed Application Form.

Considering the limited availability of time for confirmation of participation in the above Fair, we look forward to receive your confirmation on or before 30^th September, 2019.

Cancellation Policy: Withdrawal of participation from the above Fair will be allowed based on the following:

ü  80% Cancellation charge, if withdrawn on or before 5^th October 2019

ü  No refund will be available, if withdrawn thereafter.
