Sub: Participation in Combined Indian Textiles Exhibition at Bogota in Colombia from 3 to 4th March 2015

The combined Indian Textiles Exhibition (INTEXPO) in Colombia will be held in Bogota on 3rd& 4th March 2015.  The arrangements for the Exhibition will be made by SRTEPC as the ‘Lead Council’ with the help of other textiles/clothing Export Promotion Councils and support of local Trade Bodies under the guidance of the Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India, and the active guidance of the Indian Embassy & the local industry.

The combined Exhibition in Colombia is intended to showcase the latest range of Indian textiles/clothing items – encompassing fibres, yarns, fabrics, embroidered fabrics, home textiles, made-ups, accessories, apparels, carpet, jute etc., and the Event will be publicized extensively in Colombia with the help of print & electronic media.   

The details of INTEXPO COLOMBIA are as follows :

  • Name of the Exhibition : INTEXPO Colombia
  • Dates : 3 & 4th March 2015 (Tuesday & Wednesday)
  • Venue : Cámara Colombia India de Comercio e Industria, Bogota
  • Participation fee : Rs. 1.25 lakh (for a booth of 9 sqm)
  • Early Bird Discount: An amount of Rs. 10,000/- will be given to those confirming participation with full payment and relevant information on or before 12th January, 2015 (Monday).  It may be noted here that no Early Bird discount will be offered on the expiry of 12th January, 2015.

Terms & Conditions of participation :

  • The cost of a furnished booth of 9 sqm is only Rs.1.25 lakhs.  The furnished booth will include name on the facia, discussion table, chairs, display props, spot lights, power socket, & dustbin.  Please note that the participation fee is highly subsidized, as this exhibition is being organized with part funding from grant under MAI scheme.  Hence, MDA Assistance is not available for the Exhibition.  The participating company has to book a booth of minimum area of 9 sqm.  However, a company is free to book a additional area in multiple of 3 sqm (fee per sqm is Rs.13,890/-).  Additional area shall be allotted subject to available to space. 
  • The total number of exhibiting companies in INTEXPO Colombia will be around 40 including members of other Councils.  Only 20 booths have been earmarked for members of SRTEPC.
  • Selected companies will have to depute its representatives to the Exhibition at its own cost.  The expenses of airfare and hotel accommodation are not included in the participation fee. 
  • Considering limited space availability, participants will be selected on First-Come-First-Serve basis.

Visa:

The Council shall facilitate Colombian Visa for participants with the help of the Indian Embassy in Colombia and the Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India.

Hotel Reservation:

The Council will also help in reserving rooms for participants at competitive rates in a hotel in Bogota, which will be finalized in co-ordination with the Embassy of India shortly & the concerned Event Management Agency.

Travel Arrangements: 

An official Travel Agency will be arranged for group travel and help in air-ticket bookings.  The Agency will provide details of suggested flight schedules and do the needful for your representatives in this regard.  However, air-fare will have to be borne by participating companies, and to be paid directly to the Travel Agency.

Visitors Promotion:

An extensive visitor’s promotion campaign through direct mails, special invitations, exhibitors’ catalogue, flyers, advertisements in trade magazines and newspapers, press release, tele-marketing, radio & television commercials will be executed to invite the potential buyers to Exhibition stalls of Indian Exhibitors.  An Event Management Agency, will also be appointed to execute the publicity and ensure maximum visitors turnouts. 

Theme Pavilion:

On the occasion of INTEXPO, a Theme Pavilion may be arranged to showcase Indian’s rich heritage of textiles and its massive capacities and widening range of products.

Visit of Colombian Designer: 

In connection with INTEXPO, a proposal to invite a leading Designer of Textiles from Colombia is also being considered to visit India for briefing participants about the latest trend in Colombia and prepare appropriate samples for display at the exhibition.

Colombian Textile/Clothing scenario:

Colombia’s clothing and textile industry is one of the largest and most experienced in Latin America.  The high fashion segments of the industry are well developed and globally known.  There is good potential for export of yarn including polyester-cotton yarns & cotton and fabrics from India.  Polyester fabrics, lining materials including polyester-cotton and other blended fabrics are in good demand.  There is great interest for embroidered and high fashion fabrics and made-ups from India.  Fabrics and Cotton yarn is also demanded by the market.  Colombia is a net exporter of apparels with 57% of Colombian-produced clothings are sold to the International market.  Well-known international brands that are present in the market include Levis, Chevignon, Diesel, Fionucci, Girbaud and Esprit.  Colombia’s total import of textiles & clothing from the world was around USD 2315.84 Million in 2013.  It’s global import of MMF Textiles was about USD 937 Million during the year 2013.  India’s share in the Colombian market is, however, a meager 7% (or around USD 62 Million).

  • Total import of man-made fibre textiles by Colombia in 2013 was US$ 937 Million, of which US$ 438.19 Million was yarn, US$ 283.71 Million was fabrics, US$ 130.09 Million was made-ups and US$ 85.17 Million was fibre.
  • Colombia’s import of MMF textiles from India during 2013 was US$ 62.10 Million - accounting for 6.63% share in its total import of MMF textiles.
  • Product share in the export basket of Indian MMF textiles to Colombia was  yarn 80%, fabrics 13%, fibre 5% and made-ups 2%.
  • Main countries Colombia imported MMF textiles from were Mexico, USA, China, Republic of Korea, Brazil, Japan, etc.

Cancellation Policy:

Withdrawal of participation from the above Exhibition will be allowed on the basis of the following:

  1. 70% cancellation charge, if withdrawn latest by 23rdJanuary, 2015 (Friday)
  2. No refund will be available, if withdrawn thereafter.

 Apply for participation: In view of the limited booths available and short time for making appropriate arrangements in co-ordination with the concerned Event Management Agency and Embassy of India, members interested in participating in the Exhibition are requested to send the attached Reply Form dully filled in alongwith the full participation fee by cheque/DD to be drawn in favour of “The Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council, Mumbai” at the earliest but not later than 22ndJanuary, 2015 (Thursday)
