Domestic PPE Coverall for COVID-19 manufacturing under Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)

Dear Member,

As you are aware, the Ministry of Textiles had designated the following five laboratories for performing tests in respect of samples to be sent by BIS-

1. The South India Textile Research Association (SITRA) (Coimbatore) 

2. Northern India Textile Research Association (NITRA) (Ghaziabad)

3. Textiles Committee (Mumbai) 

4. Metal and Steel Factory (Ishapore) 

5. Ordnance Factory (Kanpur)) 

Further, it may be informed that Ministry of Textiles had designated the following five laboratories to conduct Pre-Dispatch Inspection (PDI) testing of samples received from HLL vide their Office Memorandum dated 25th June 2020-

1. Institute of Nuclear Medical & Allied Sciences (INMAS) (New Delhi) 

2. Heavy Vehicles Factory (Avadi)

3. Small Arms Factory (Kanpur) 

4. Ordnance Factory (Muradnagar)

5. Ordnance Factory (Ambarnath)) 

Since the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare had requested Ministry of Textiles to designate more/additional labs for PDI testing to enable completion of PDI testing by the end of August 2020, the Ministry of Textiles has issued Office Memorandum F.N. 8/4/2020- R&D dated  2nd July, 2020 by designating the following three more laboratories to conduct the PDI testing of samples received from HLL until further order-  

1. South India Textile Research Association (SITRA) (Coimbatore)

2. Metal and Steel Factory (Ishapore)

3. Ordnance Factory (Kanpur)
