Sub: Suggestions for the new Foreign Trade Policy 2015-20
Dear Sir,
As you are aware, the Government of India has unveiled the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2015-20, focusing on supporting both the manufacturing and services sectors.
You may also be aware that under the FTP 2015-20, the Government has introduced a new scheme “Merchandise Exports from India Scheme (MEIS)” for export of specified goods to specified markets by combining their earlier Schemes for export promotion.
With regard to the reward to the various Tariff lines in the MEIS, the Council has reviewed the Annexure Tables and have found that many of the HS Codes pertaining to MMF Textiles are not included for reward during this year (download table). This table explains the list of MMF Textile Tariff lines being excluded in the current Reward list of the FTP 2015-20. It also gives the Exports during 2013-14 in the respective HSCODE.
It is requested that you may kindly go through the list and inform the Council regarding the HSCODE concerning your products and the related support in the tariff lines request for specific countries, so that we can take up the combined issues further with the Department of Commerce and DGFT.
We solicit your co-operation in the matter and look forward to receive your suggestions/ views with respect to your product and the reward required for specific countries for which you need support at the earliest. Your immediate action in this regard would be highly appreciated.
