To Members of the Council

Dear Sir/s

As you may be aware, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, GOI has recently launched Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), a scheme to encourage youth to acquire employable skills and financially assists them by meeting full or part of their training cost. The scheme also provides financial assistance to the existing workers to improve their skill levels. The scheme is implemented by National Skill Development Council (NSDC) and is expected to train 24,00,000 workers in the current financial year.

Now, under this scheme, NSDC has asked Textile Sector Skill council (TSC) to impart training to 13,600 workers in 3 months starting from May, 2015 and sanctioned a sum of Rs 13.6 Cr for this purpose. The textile mills affiliated to TSC are now conducting these training programs. Till date 169 textile mills are affiliated to TSC. Out of these, 121 of them are now engaged in training 13,600 workers and they will get Rs 10,000/- per worker on successful completion of the training program.
