Sub: Inputs on shortfall of labour during the 2nd wave of COVID pandemic
The Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry has been monitoring the shortage of labour issue in the Textile sector during the 2nd wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
In this regard, DoC requested this Council to provide feedback whether the MMF textile segment is experiencing shortfall of labour and the requirement for bringing back labour to start production.
Since the time given to us is very short, the Member-companies of the Council are requested to inform by evening today through return email at baruah@srtepc.in, ed@srtepc.in whether they are experiencing shortfall of labour and the need their workers to bring back to start production.
This may be treated on priority please.
