Sub:  Improvements in Faceless Assessment-Measures for expediting Customs Clearances 

Dear Member,    

JNCH has issued Public Notice No. 69/2021 dated 14^th July, 2021 on the above subject. In this regard, CBIC had also issued Circular No.14 /2021-Customs dated 7^th July, 2021 (Refer to Council’s Circular No. ES/93/2021-22 dated 9^th July, 2021).   

On comprehensive review of the implementation of Faceless Assessment and with a view to increase the pace of assessments and Customs clearance, for further enhancing the uniformity in assessments and anonymity, CBIC has decided to implement the following measures in the Customs Faceless Assessment and clearance processes: 

• Enhancement of facilitation levels 
• Expediting assessment process 
• Re-organisation of FAGs-Specialization 
• Automated generation of examination orders 
• Anonymised escalation
