Re: Invitation to participate in Two-Day Virtual BSM with Brazilian Buyers, on 23rd and 24th November 2021

Dear Members,

The global trade has been steadily improving in view of encouraging buildup in consumer confidence with increasing vaccination drives worldwide.

To take advantage of this emerging globally market opportunity after almost 2 years of continuous halt, this Council is organizing Buyers – Sellers matchmaking between SRTEPC Member-exporters and leading Brazilian Textile buyers virtually for two-days on 23 and 24 November from 17.30 hrs. to 22:30 hrs. IST.

With regards to market potential for MMF textiles in Brazil, it is to highlight that consumption of MMF textiles in Brazil in Quarter 2 (April-June 2021) alone was around 1 billion US Dollar. As compared to Quarter 2 (April-June 2020), imports have increased around 90% in Quarter 2 (April-June 2021). Therefore, this is the most appropriate time to explore business possibilities to boost exports to Brazil.

Appointment of Brazilian Matchmaking Agency: To derive the objective of establishing fruitful business networks/ meetings of the SRTEPC Member-exporters with leading Brazilian Textile importers as per their respective product profiles, this Council under the guidance of the Consulate General of India in Sao Paulo, Brazil, is appointing a competent local matchmaking agency. Minimum 3 personalised B2B meetings for each company have been planned during the BSM.   

MAI Assistance: This Virtual BSM is being organized under the Market Access Initiative (MAI) Scheme that will provide the eligible companies with financial assistance from the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India, by ways of subsidized participation charges, subject to the fulfillment of required terms and conditions.

Product profile of the BSM

• Focus of the BSM shall be on Manmade Fibre Textiles and raw materials viz., MMF Yarns, MMF Fabrics, Nonwovens, Embroidery Fabrics, Home Textiles, Fashion Accessories products, etc.
• Yarns: Polyester Yarn, Polyester Viscose Yarn, Polyester-Cotton yarn, Polyester Filament (POY), Poly-blended Spun Yarn, Nylon Filament yarn, Viscose Spun Yarn, Viscose Filament Yarn, Polyester Acrylic Yarns, etc.
• Fabrics: Shirting, Suiting, Fancy & Embroidered, Dress Material, Uniform Fabric, Denim Fabrics, knitted fabrics, nonwovens, etc.
• Home Textiles Fabrics: Bedlinen, Kitchen Linen, Living Room Textiles Goods Line, Bedroom Textiles Goods Line, etc.
• Fashion Accessories products: Shawls, stalls, scarves, fancy dress materials, etc.

Important Highlights of the SRTEPC-Brazil BSM

Conditions for availing MAI subsidy

1. An exporter can avail MAI benefit for participation in 3 approved events in a financial year. 4^th time participation in the Fair will be allowed without MAI subsidy.
2. A maximum of three participations in a particular trade fair/exhibition would only be eligible for MAI assistance, i.e., members who have availed assistance three times (including past cases) for a particular fair/exhibition, thereafter, have to participate in that fair on their own.

IMPORTANT: The participation fee at Rs. 5000/ with the MAI Assistance is limited to 20 companies only. After this number, the floor price will be without MAI assistance which will be very high. Therefore, Members are requested to rush to apply immediately and make full payment to ensure your subsidized participation.
