Circular No. ES/262/2021-22                                                    04th March, 2022

                                                                                                                                                                                                                     VERY IMPORTANT & URGENT

 To: Members of the Council

Sub: Updation of licences and eBRCs by the banks

Dear Member,

It has been observed that some of our member-exporters are facing difficulty in receiving electronic Bank Realisation Certificates (eBRCs) due to delay or denial by some of the banks on exports made.

As per the norm, e-BRC is issued by a bank to exporters on each shipment of export proceeds. This helps exporters avail incentives, import duty exemptions and other financial assistance provided by the Government. There are many shipping bills against which payments have already been realised but e-BRCs have not been issued by the concerned banks, thus putting name of exporters under Caution List in EDPMS.

Due to the delay caused by the concerned banks in issuing eBRCs, exporters face severe hardships. They are unnecessarily forced to provide an explanation to the concerned Authority thereby ending up in paying huge amount along with the interest charged.

In order to avoid problems, members are therefore, requested to kindly check and ensure that all your licences and eBRCs are properly updated by the concerned authority.

Members may kindly make a note of the above and do the needful at the earliest.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,
