General Bond (Form B- 17) to be executed by the Export Oriented Units (EOUs)

Sub: General Bond (Form B- 17) to be executed by the Export Oriented Units (EOUs)

Dear Member,

We would like to inform you that the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs has issued Notification No.1/2018- Central Excise (N.T.) dated 5^th December, 2018 notifying that Form B- 17 General Bond (with Surety/Security) shall be executed by the Export Oriented Units/ Units in the Electronic Hardware Technology Park/ Software Technology Park/ Bio-Technology Park.

The Form B-17 General Bond shall be executed for the following reasons:

• Provisional assessment of goods to Central Excise duty
• Export without payment of duty
• Special procedure for removal of semi-finished goods for certain purposes
• Special procedure for removal of excisable goods for carrying out certain processes.

For more information regarding the conditions of the Bond, members may kindly refer to the Notification No.1/2018- Central Excise (N.T.).

Members may kindly make a note of the above.
