Sub.: Export promotion & facilitation
Dear Member,
We are pleased to inform you that the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) has constituted a Working Group on Export Promotion & Facilitation under the chairmanship of Shri O.P Dadhich, Chief Commissioner of Customs, Delhi Zone, New Delhi.
The Working Group will cover the following aspects of the issues faced by exporters –
Customs procedures & facilitation.
Export related issues.
Quality/ cost of services provided by various intermediaries in the Customs environment like Customs Brokers, Shipping lines, Forwarders, Custodians etc.
Impact of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) signed by India.
Tariff concessions vis-à-vis non-tariff barriers faced by exporters in export markets.
Need for non-preferential rules of origin and their structure.
Manufacture–in-bond under Section 65 of the Customs Act.
In this connection, the Council has received a communication from the Ministry of Finance vide dated 27th February, 2019 seeking inputs/ suggestions on the issues faced by exporters.
Members are requested to kindly make a note of the above and send us your inputs/ suggestions on the issues faced by you on the above issues (as per the format given below) at ed@srtepc.in, mr@srtepc.in & es@srtepc.in latest by 1st March, 2019 (Friday) to enable the Council to send the same to the Ministry of Finance.
