Subject: Study on Identifying and suggesting solutions to domestic policy constraints, which are hampering our exports

Dear Sir/s,

It is to inform that this Council has received a communication from the EXIM Bank informing that the EXIM Bank is doing a Study to identify domestic policy constraints, which are hampering exports from India and accordingly suggest solutions, in select sectors.  Textiles, including synthetic and rayon textiles is one of the sectors selected for the study, because of its preeminent position in our exports and its huge potential to grow globally.

The EXIM Bank has assigned the said Study to undertake to a team of leading and senior Bureaucrats cum experts including former Commerce Secretary, retired Ambassador of India to the WTO, ex-UNCTAD, Secretary, Economic Advisory Council to the PM, etc.

In this connection, an interactive Meeting between the Team and the Member-companies has been scheduled at 2 pm on Friday, 3 January, 2020 at TEXPROCIL office in Mumbai.

Relating to the above mentioned study copies of two Questionnaires are attached. It would be very helpful if the Members could fill in and bring in the duly filled in Questionnaires to the meeting on 3rd January.

Members are requested to attend the said Meeting at 2 pm on Friday, 3 January, 2020 at TEXPROCIL and share/ give their respective inputs & view for the above Mentioned Study.

A line of confirmation from your side will be helpful to make the necessary arrangements accordingly. Confirmation may be sent to baruah@srtepc.in.

Regards,

S. Balaraju
