Circular No.ES/296/2019-20                                      30th March, 2020

Sub.: Facilitation measures of clearance of import cargo due to delay arising in outbreak of COVID-19

Dear Member,

We would like to inform you that Air Cargo Complex (Sahar) has issued Public Notice No.54/2020 dated 27th March, 2020 regarding facilitation of  clearance of import cargo due to delay arising in outbreak of Coronavirus.

Your kind attention is invited to Public Notice No. 49/2020 dated 21st February, 2020 issued on the subject matter of ‘Facilitation of clearance of import containers due to delay in receiving of documents from China’.

Keeping in view the situation arising due to outbreak of COVID-19 across the country, there is likelihood of late filing of Bills of Entry because of the difficulties faced in getting the related documents, reaching the facilities from where the filing can be done on ICEGATE etc.

Late filing of Bills of Entry attracts late fee in terms of ‘Bill of Entry (Forms) Amendment Regulations, 2017.

Therefore, in view of the above and, in order to facilitate the trade for clearance of the import consignments, Air Cargo COmplex has decided in the public interest that those Bills of Entry which pertain to Import General Manifest (IGMs) filed on or after 20th March, 2020, if filed late for clearance of import consignments, will not attract any late fee charges for the time being and till further orders.

Members may kindly make a note of the above.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,

S. BALARAJU
