Sub: Pending Brand Rate Drawback claims due to non-submission of Brand Rate Letters
Dear Member,
Mumbai Customs has issued Public Notice No.31/2020 dated 22nd April, 2020 on the above subject.
It is informed through the Public Notice that a large number of Drawback claims are pending due to non submission of Brand Rate Letters. Detailed list of such drawback shipping bill is enclosed as Annexure-A of the Public Notice.
In this regard, several reminders have already been issued by Customs to these exporters to submit their Brand Rate Letters so that their drawback claims can be processed but till date no brand rate letter has been received.
Customs has stated that -
It is the responsibility of the Exporters/CHAs/Other stakeholders to check the status of their drawback claim against a shipping bill through ICEGATE and
If any claim is pending due to non-submission of Brand Rate Letter, they should submit their Brand Rate Letters after viewing the status.
Therefore, Customs has advised all exporters whose shipping bills are pending at Brand Rate queue as listed in Annexure-A should submit their Brand Rate Letters in this department immediately so that their claim can be processed.
