(Except Melt-blown Fabric of any GSM)

Dear Member,

We are glad to inform you that the Government has lifted the restriction on exports of Non-woven fabrics and allowed exports of Non-woven fabrics of any GSM. The Chairman of the Council, Shri Ronak Rughani thanks the Hon'ble Prime Minister; Hon'ble Union Ministers of Commerce & Industry and Textiles and the DGFT for hearing Council's request and to allow exports of Non-Woven fabrics. Ban on exports of non-woven fabric had put the survival of the whole MMF Industry at stake. These measures will go a long way in supporting the industry, and safeguarding lakhs of jobs across the country. 

DGFT vide Notification No.28/2015-20 dated 18th August,2020 has made following amendments in Notification No. 18 dated 13th July, 2020 by allowing Non-woven fabrics of any GSM (Except Melt-blown Fabric of any GSM).

The export policy of textile raw material for masks and coveralls is now revised as under:

Accordingly, now all other non-woven fabrics of any GSM (including of 25-70 GSM which were earlier prohibited) are freely allowed for exports. We hope the Govt. lifts the restrictions on other MMF prohibited items too and allows them for exports.
