Sub: BIS Talks, a Film on ‘Standardization in the Field of Textiles’
As you are aware textile sector plays a major role in the Indian economy. This needs to be appreciated because textile is the only industry which can create huge employment much faster with much less investment. The technical textiles industry also has immense potential in the developing countries. India is now emerging as a powerhouse of both production as well as end-use consumption of technical textiles. With a view to position the country as a global leader in technical textiles, National Technical Textiles Mission has been launched by the Government of India at a total outlay of Rs 1480 crore; with a four-year implementation period from FY 2020-21 to 2023-24.
Keeping above in view, as a part of series of BIS Talks, a Film on ‘Standardization in the Field of Textiles’ has been brought out to help widely disseminate among the stakeholders the information about available Indian Standards in textiles and technical textiles.
