Sub: Workshop on the Implications of GST (Friday, June 24, 2016 at 11.00 a.m. at Mumbai)
We are glad to inform you that the World Trade Centre (WTC) Mumbai along with All India Association of Industries (AIAI) is organising a Workshop on the Implications of GST- Industry perspective, as a fourth series of ‘Make in India’. The Workshop will be held at Centrum, 1st floor, Centre 1 Building, WTC Complex, Cuffe Parade, Mumbai on Friday, June 24, 2016 at 11.00 a.m.
As you are aware, Goods and Services Tax (GST) is the system which streamlines all the different types of indirect taxes and implements a “single taxation” system. The main objective of this system is to abolish all indirect taxes replacing with single GST. As the name suggests, the GST will be levied both on Goods and Services.
GST is expected to be a critical reform in spurring growth in the economy and industry. When introduced, GST will not only make the tax system simpler, but will also help in increased compliance, boost tax revenues, reduce the tax outflow in the hands of the consumers and make exports competitive.
