Sub: Documents required for the generation and release of Export Promotion (EP) Copy- Amendment to Public Notice No. 165/ 2016 dated 21.11.2016
Dear Member,
We would like to inform you that Mumbai Customs has issued Public Notice No. 177/ 2016 dated 19.12.2016 regarding the above subject.
In this regard, attention is invited to Paragraph 4 of Public Notice No. 165/ 2016 dated 21.11.2016 issued by Mumbai Customs wherein it was mentioned that either Mate Receipt or Bill of Lading can be submitted for the generation of EP Copy ( except in the of case bulk cargo), as a trade facilitation measure.
In view of the above, the CBEC issued Circular No. 56/2016- Customs dated 24.11.2016 stating that Customs House should no more insist for issuance of Mate receipt in the case of containerized cargo except for non- containerized export cargo like bulk cargo etc,
Now, vide above Public Notice No. 177/2016, the Trade is advised to submit Bill of Lading for the generation of Export Promotion (EP) Copy (except in the case of Bulk Cargo) and the practice of issuing Mate receipt will continue in the case of Bulk Cargo.
