Textiles India 2017, 30th June to 2nd July 2017 at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat

SRTEPC’s ‘Source India – 2016’, held at Surat on 13th and 14th August 2016 has left the Global Textile Industry asking for more of Incredible Textiles of India. The Reverse Buyer Seller Meet(RBSM) generated an overwhelming response from both, our esteemed exhibitors as well as the visiting buyers from various countries across the world. Our Hon’ble Union Minister of Textiles, Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani graced the event as the Chief Guest and was witness to the scale and grandeur on display. She carried back the blue print of an even bigger event and the result is that now the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India is organizing ‘Textiles India-2017’  scheduled to be inaugurated by Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi Jee and Union Ministers from various Ministries will also present on this occasion. The event is a specialized comprehensive business to business fair for the Indian Textile Sector that will showcase the entire range of textile products covering ‘Fibre to Fashion’. The aim is to make it as one of the key flagship events of Ministry of Textiles such that it is engraved as an annual destination for International Buyers. Textiles India 2017 shall provide more than 2500 discerning International buyers, agents, designers, retail chains from across the world to interact with you. This mega event is spread over an air conditioned space of 40,000 sq. mtrs (for 1000 exhibitors) at Mahatma Mandir, Ghandhinagar (Ahmedabad), Gujarat. The event shall also comprise of major show stoppers like Fashion Show, Seminar, B2B meeting, Workshops, prominent speakers including international speakers shall also be a major part of this event.

Of late, Indian Textiles Industry is transforming swiftly to cater for the global needs by imbibing technological advancements and adopting structural changes. Textiles are one of the key strategic sectors of Indian labour intensive manufacturing, both due to global and domestic factors. It is one of the largest revenue and foreign exchange earners and among the top sectors that guarantee employment to millions of Indians. Considering its inherent potential to spur multiplier growth impact, the Govt. of India has set the onus on itself to achieve revenues of USD 260 billion by year 2020. As a sequel to its ambitious plans for showcasing the Incredible Textiles of India as “Brand India” initiatives, the Ministry of Textiles has drawn up a plan for organizing ‘Textiles India - 2017’ with the objective of creating an event that shall be recognized as the leading exhibition of the Indian Textile & Apparel Industry in the International Textile fraternity. This event shall be a comprehensive show covering all verticals of the Indian Textile Sector and will strive to highlight our country’s potential in the sector. It shall go a long way to promote India as the ‘Must-Go-To’ destination by welcoming all related stakeholders globally in this business to partner with us to create latest processes, smarter products, innovative processes and futuristic designs and R&D in this versatile sector, a show of Indian Textile’s global capabilities.

Being a Government initiative and keeping in mind the involvement of all major and minor stakeholders, the exhibition is set to provide huge business opportunities to our esteemed members. It offers a tailor-made opportunity for members-companies to conclude profitable business deals with international buyers right here in India without expenses and hassles of travel abroad.

Textiles India 2017 will be widely and extensively promoted to attract leading foreign buyers and even as we are writing there are road shows being conducted across the various destinations to publicize the event. It may also be mentioned that the buyers will be identified and selected by the leading Textile Councils with expert help and active guidance of the respective Indian Missions in each country and with the active assistance of the Textile Trade Bodies and Associations in each country.

The Council proposes to select more than 100 member-companies of different product groups including Suiting, Shirting, Made-ups, Home Textiles, Industrial Textiles, Dress Material, Women’s Wear, Accessories, Yarn and Fibre on a First-Come-First Served basis for participation in the mega event.
