Sub: Publication of Daily List of Imports & Exports by Customs
Dear Member,
The Council has received a communication from Forum for Trade Remedies (FFTR) regarding the Publication of Daily List of Imports & Exports by Customs.
As you may be aware, the Ministry of Finance, vide its Notification No. 128/2004 - Customs (N.T.) dated 19.11.2004, had notified to publish information on “Daily List of Imports& Exports” by Customs, which included details regarding country of origin, description of goods, quantity of goods, value of goods & names of steamers.
Unfortunately, Ministry of Finance had discontinued publication of “Daily List of Imports & Exports”, vide its Notification No. 140/2016 – Customs (N.T) dated 25 November, 2016, resulting into many difficulties for the domestic industry.
In this regard, Ministry of Finance has received various representations from different organizations requesting to continue publishing this critical information.
In view of the above, CBEC has requested the members of Trade to furnish feedback on the impact caused by discontinuation of publication of “Daily List of Import & Export” backed by clear facts.
Considering the importance of the matter, members are requested to kindly send their feedback/ views to the following;
