Sub : Invitation for Mumbai Roadshow - Advantage Assam  on 29th November 2017 at JW Marriott, Sahar, Mumbai

Dear Member,

The Council has received a message from the Secretary to the Govt. of Assam informing us that the Government of Assam is organizing Global Investors Summit- ‘Advantage Assam’ on 3^rd and 4^th February, 2018 in Guwahati and Hon’ble Prime Minister of India has consented to inaugurate the Summit.

The Summit programme would witness the following -

• Meeting of global leaders from the Industry and Government sectors.
• Leading personalities from academics and industry associations will also be present, along with budding entrepreneurs.

Advantage of Assam

Assam is one of the Indian States with substantial reserve of petrochemicals. There are four functional oil refineries in Assam and some of these such as Bongaigaon Refinery & Petrochemical Ltd. is already having polyester staple fibre (PSF) plants. Moreover, Assam has natural vegetation and 34% of its total geographical area has been covered by forest. Therefore, Assam can be a potential state for production of both synthetic based and cellulosic based textiles.

Further, as you are aware, Assam is one of the fastest growing States in the North east India and it is the ideal strategic point for doing business with the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and BBIN (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal) countries. In view of this, the Government of Assam is taking all possible measures to make Assam an investor friendly State and “Advantage Assam’ is a part of the Government of Assam’s commitment to make Assam a globally competitive business region and to usher in socio-economic development in this part of the country.

The programme is aimed at promoting investments in Assam.

In this connection, a Road Show is being organized in Mumbai.

Details of the Road Show –

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam shall address the investors on the occasion.

The Council requests our interested Members to participate in the said investment Road show.
