Extension in the time limit for making the declaration in FORM GST ITC-01 for specified classes of taxpayers

Sub.: Extension in the time limit for making the declaration in FORM GST ITC-01 for specified classes of taxpayers 

Dear Member,

As you are aware, a registered person who is entitled to claim credit of input tax under section 18 (1) is required to file a declaration in Form ‘GST ITC-01’. The credit may be availed for inputs held in stock, Inputs contained in semi-finished or finished goods held in stock or capital goods.  

Now, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has issued Notification No.42/2018-Central Tax dated 4^th September, 2018 extending the time limit for making the declaration in FORM GST ITC-01 by registered persons who have filed the application in FORM GST-CMP-04  between 2^nd March, 2018 and 31^st March, 2018, for a period of 30 days from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette i.e. 4^th October, 2018.
